 Why is Recycling Important?

Before knowing the importance and benefits of recycling and its relation to a better environmental condition, it is essential to understand what is recycling. Recycling refers to the process of collecting used materials which are usually considered as 'waste' and reprocessing them. In this process these used materials are sorted and processed to be used as 'raw materials' for the production of new products. It varies from 'reuse' in the sense that while reuse just means using old products repeatedly, recycling means using the core elements of an old product as raw material to manufacture new goods.

Many people want to recycle, but they never get started because they don’t even know what they can recycle. If you’re curious about what you can recycle from around the home, the truth is that it depends.
Almost anything can be recycled – or at the very least reused – so that you can dramatically reduce the amount of trash you’re throwing into a landfill somewhere. The key, though, is to figure out what you can recycle at a facility near you.
Part of the problem when people get over-zealous about what can be recycled is that the wrong type of paper, plastic, or metal mixed in with the rest can ruin the recycling process and sometimes cause extensive damage to recycling equipment. This is why it’s important to know exactly what types of items your local recycling facility takes and to sort your recycling carefully.
Also, it’s important that you clean all your recyclable items of food, since you want to make sure they can get through the recycling process without contaminating the recyclables. Carefully rinsing packaging and cans can help the recycling process along, ensuring that everything you’re tossing in the recycling bin can actually be turned into something new and useful!

  1. i think recycling is important for us and our planet cause we will have a heathly planet where we can live. My opinion of the people that contaminate our planet is peeple that do not have EDUCATION of how to recycle or protect our planet. This is our planet is the place that we live,is our mother nature and we have to protect her with our hearts.
It hurt me that people be sooooo bad with our planet, our future is in there and if we can´t take care about it we will die and I wanna live forever. "ok, till i die".
    i love my little planet.

  2. If we all had the idea of recycling would be a different world, it costs nothing. I think first we must recycle our mind to make a change in our lives and our world.

  3. I think that recycling has become one of the activities that are helping to solve, in part, the problems caused by the millions of tons of solid waste produced daily by humans worldwide.
Recycling is important because it helps the environment of our planet, since in recent years our planet has been polluting our fault, we are not aware of the damage we are causing to our planet by not recycle and pick up trash. This damage not only has consequences for our planet, but also for us, for the long term: this contamination will destroy our ozone layer and we will not be protected against UV rays or sunlight. To avoid this we must recycle, collaborate with our planet, not to pollute the cities, which is our habitat, avoiding also pollute rivers and water as this is the main source of our life, not cutting down trees, and do not burn in forests. If we realize we recycle paper at preventing more trees cut down, and this helps us, because the trees are the lungs of our planet and help clean up the environment ...
